During our recent staycation at Mercure Singapore Bugis, we stayed at the Executive Loft Room and got the chance to visit the Executive Lounge of Mercure Singapore Bugis. In this post, we’ll review the now famous Executive Loft Room, Executive Lounge and of course the infinity lap pool of Mercure Singapore Bugis!
Mercure Singapore Bugis Executive Loft Room Staycation Review
As the name suggests, the loft room at Mercure Singapore Bugis consists of 2 levels connected by a stairway…
Upstairs, you’ll find a space that is just sufficient to fit a queen-sized bed. There’s also a TV on the wall for you to lie down and catch your favourite shows…
Downstairs, you’ll find the living space. We love the huge artwork as well as the cozy space where you can just hang around, have a cuppa and enjoy views out of the full length windows…
A wash basin as well as separate toilet and bathroom is located next to the entrance of the Executive Loft Room

Facilities of Mercure Singapore Bugis
Mercure Singapore Bugis is not a very large hotel but it has all the facilities expected of a 4-star hotel. You’ll find the usual facilities such as a gym, swimming pool, jacuzzi (level 7), restaurants (level 2 – Song Garden / level 3 – Royale), bar (level 1), meeting rooms (level 3), ballroom (level 2), a sky deck (R) as well as the privilege lounge (level 3), more commonly known as the executive lounge.
One of the reasons why we decided to do a staycation at Mercure Singapore Bugis is because of its facilities…
One of our favourite facility of Mercure Bugis Singapore is definitely the infinity pool. Here you’ll be able to enjoy views over the Bugis area and do laps over the 25 metres distance. You can grab a drink by the pool, chill out at one of the jacuzzi pools or just laze by one of the deck chairs.
The only thing that we didn’t like was that the pool actually faces an HDB block. So it’s actually not really unblocked. While walking along the side of the pool, do be careful as well. It can be rather slippery as we witnessed another guest slip and fall. Fortunately, she was able to get up by herself. Something that Mercure Singapore Bugis can take note of…
The gym, though small, has thread mills and weights, allowing you to get some simple workouts going. Located next to the jacuzzi, the gym also overlooks the infinity swimming pool of Mercure Singapore Bugis.
The roof deck at the top of Mercure Singapore Bugis is another nice place to hang out. During the day, you’ll enjoy the expanse of the Singapore city skyline. In the evenings, the lit night skies also offers a different feel altogether. The corner seat always seems to be occupied.
If you’re not staying at the Executive Loft Room, you can still chill out at the bar at level 1 and enjoy seatings at the reception area at the same level.
Mercure Singapore Bugis Executive Lounge (Privilege Lounge) Review
As we’re staying at the Executive Loft Room of Mercure Singapore Bugis, we got to enjoy cocktail hours (6pm to 8pm daily) as well as breakfast here. Turns out that this was a great move because of the sushi selection for cocktail hour as well as the much better service here as compared to the Royale restaurant during breakfast hours.
Mercure Singapore Bugis Executive Lounge Cocktail Hours
Unlike most Executive Lounges that we’ve been to (think Pacific Club of Pan Pacific Singapore), the Privilege Lounge of Mercure Singapore Bugis is…really small. Probably the smallest we’ve been to. However, what it lacked in space, the hotel made up with great service. We noticed that the food was promptly topped up and that tables were promptly cleared as well.
In terms of food and beverage selection during cocktail hours at Mercure Singapore Bugis, we thought it was not too bad at all. There were finger food such as pizza and spring rolls as well as a selection of sushi, pastries, cheese and fruits. Alcohol selection, though not extensive, was sufficient. You’ll enjoy a decent selection of red and white wines as well as beers (Heineken).
Mercure Singapore Bugis Executive Lounge Breakfast Buffet
The breakfast buffet selection at Mercure Singapore Bugis’ Privilege Lounge was actually quite sufficient. The usual fare of continental breakfast as well as bread pastries are offered. The difference as compared to dining at the main restaurant (Royale) is the service. We actually stopped by Royale Restaurant before visiting the Executive Lounge. As we were there are about 9am, the restaurant was fully packed and guests had to wait in a line outside the restaurant. As guests with executive lounge privilege, we headed over and were promptly seated. Gourmet coffee ensued. You can also choose to order poached eggs from the main restaurant to be brought into the lounge through the lady at the reception of the restaurant (not at the eggs station itself).
Eventually, we did visit Royale Restaurant – to review it for you, our readers of course. However, we were quite disappointed. Due to the peak hour, there were actually no cups available for coffee. No cups! :O We had to wait quite a while before the cups arrived. Also, after we ordered our poached eggs, the waiter did not know which table ordered and had to checked back again, walking past our table a couple of times. Our recommendation would be to stay at the Executive Loft Room of Mercure Singapore Bugis and enjoy your breakfat at the Executive Lounge instead. You won’t miss anything dining at the main restaurant. Here’s what we had at Royale Restaurant for breakfast…
Cereals | Poached Eggs | Bee Hoon |
In and Around Mercure Singapore Bugis
There are several shopping options next to Mercure Singapore Bugis. You’ll be able to find Bugis Junction, Bugis Shopping Street and Bugis+ within minutes from the hotel. This time, we visited the Ramen Champion (Level 4) at Bugis+…
Food was great and relatively affordable. Would definitely be back again! Check out our video coverage of this staycation at Mercure Singapore Bugis!
