With the changing travel habits among travellers today, the Expedia Add-On Advantage was designed to meet the needs of modern travellers who seek value, convenience and flexibility.
A recent survey3 conducted by Brand Expedia Singapore with 500 Singaporeans aged 18 and above in June 2018 revealed that air tickets and accommodation are the top two most commonly-purchased items online, ahead of apparel, groceries and electronics. However, the majority of Singaporean travellers (71 percent) said that they booked their air tickets and accommodation separately because they prefer more flexibility (66 percent), need more time to research on accommodation (45 percent) and think that accommodation prices could be cheaper if they make the booking at a later date (31 percent).
When asked about the amount of time they generally spend planning for a one-week holiday, six in 10 Singaporeans said that they spend more than 10 hours planning for their holiday, while three in 10 spend over 30 hours planning for a similar holiday. According to 72 percent of the respondents, spending a lot of time researching and planning for their holidays will ensure that they get good deals, while 81 percent said that it is important to them to get a good deal for every holiday that they book, showing that Singaporeans are avid travel deal-hunters.
